Carnival week 1930

In 1930 the hospital launched an ambitious campaign to raise funds for the building and ongoing running of the Infirmary. The carnival parade through the city was a culmination of a week-long series of events, including concerts, football matches, dances, sales and firework displays. The total raised after expenses was £4961 6s 0d which is the modern equivalent of around £300,000.
