Paws helping out the cause
Our archives include a newspaper cutting from The Daily Graphic dated October 21st 1891 describing the fundraising efforts of ‘Bang’ the dog. Bang had collected 6093 coins from around Salisbury and raised £16 11s 3d in eighteen months (the modern equivalent of around £2000).
Another Salisbury Infirmary fundraising dog appears in an undated photograph. The photo shows the dog with a collecting tin and the dog appears to be balancing a coin on its nose!
